VU Electrical both supplies and installs EV chargers, so you don't need to source your own unit before booking us in. We'll assess your switchboard and typical charging needs, recommend a charger to suit your vehicle and usage, and handle the full install from there, dedicated circuit, mounting, testing and compliance certification. If you've already bought a charger yourself, that's fine too, we're happy to install a unit you've already purchased.
Home EV charger installation
Most home installs come down to running a dedicated circuit from your switchboard to the charger location, usually in a garage, carport, or driveway. We'll check your switchboard has the spare capacity to handle it safely before quoting, and if it doesn't, we can upgrade the switchboard as part of the same job rather than sending you elsewhere.
Workplace and multi-vehicle EV charger installation
For businesses running a fleet, or wanting to offer charging for staff and customers, we install multi-charger setups designed around how many vehicles need to charge and how quickly. This usually involves a larger supply assessment than a single home unit, and we'll factor in future expansion if you're planning to add more chargers down the track.
Switchboard capacity and upgrades
An EV charger draws considerably more power than most household circuits are built for, so switchboard capacity is the first thing we check. Older switchboards, or ones already running close to capacity, often need an upgrade before a charger can be safely added. We assess this upfront so there are no surprises on install day, and quote the upgrade alongside the charger install if it's needed.
