We specialise in the supply and installation of split system air conditioners. Heating and cooling handled by our own qualified electricians, not subcontractors.
Hot summers and cool winters both handled efficiently and quietly by a reverse cycle split system.
Reverse cycle units provide both heating and cooling, keeping your home comfortable through every season from a single system.
Inverter-type split systems are one of the most energy-efficient forms of cooling and heating available, running quieter with greater output using less electricity.
Most new units use R32 refrigerant, which is significantly safer for the environment and offers strong energy efficiency.
Modern split systems are designed to run almost silently, with no noisy compressors in the living space.
Every installation includes a Certificate of Electrical Safety, legally required and included in our price as standard.
We size the unit to the room, so you're not paying for more capacity, or running costs, than you actually need.
We assess the space and recommend the right size and brand for your needs, no obligation.
We help you select the best unit from leading brands at a competitive price.
Our qualified electricians complete the full installation with care and attention to detail.
You receive your compliance certificate on completion, plus the manufacturer and workmanship warranty.
Installation types vary depending on your building design and where you want the units positioned.
The most common and cost-effective installation. Indoor and outdoor units positioned back-to-back through an external wall.
Installations in multi-storey homes and developments, running lines through wall cavities and roof spaces as required.
Where ground or wall space is limited, we can mount the outdoor unit on the roof, keeping the install tidy.
Where the outdoor unit needs to sit away from the indoor unit, we run lines through internal wall cavities for a clean result.
Split systems for offices, shops and commercial spaces with minimal disruption to your operations.
Got an old system that's failing or inefficient? We remove it and install a new, energy-efficient system with updated certificates.
We install all major split system brands, so you can choose the unit that fits your home and budget.
A few simple habits keep your system running well and help protect the manufacturer warranty.
MONTHLY, DO IT YOURSELF
Clean your filters every month. Remove the filter from the indoor unit, rinse under water, let it dry fully and replace. It takes a few minutes and makes a real difference to performance.
Check the outdoor unit too. Make sure nothing is leaning against it or growing nearby, since debris and plants block airflow and reduce efficiency.
ONCE A YEAR, PROFESSIONAL SERVICE
Book a full service every 12 months. A licensed technician cleans the coils, checks refrigerant levels and confirms the unit is running as it should.
Regular servicing helps protect your manufacturer warranty and keeps running costs low. Call VU Electrical each year to book yours in.
For the best balance of comfort and efficiency, we recommend setting your unit between 20 and 22°C.
Yes. When your unit is working correctly it creates condensate, which is plumbed to the outside of your home to evaporate near the unit or into the garden.
On days colder than around 5 degrees, the outdoor coils can ice up. This is normal, the unit will pause to let the ice melt, then continue automatically.
Try turning the unit off at the switchboard or isolator switch for around 10 minutes, then turn it back on. It's also worth trying fresh batteries in the remote. If the error persists, give us a call.
Check the unit is on the correct mode (heating or cooling) and that the filters are clean, since this resolves most performance issues. If the problem continues, contact us before contacting the manufacturer directly, so we can assess it as part of any warranty claim.
